Download the Modem version, follow the instructions for creating a bootable
disk.
If your modem works under this mini-os, it should work in Linux.

Excuse my ignorance, but what Delphi for Linux? I've not been programming
Delphi for over a year. Has Borland (or whatever they call themselves these
days) *really* made Delphi for Linux? Be still my heart.....

Picky picky picky. The poster meant 10KB/s (K Bytes/second), and *you* meant
115.2Kb/s (K bits/second). In either case, with a normal 16550 UART, most
external ISDN TA's don't get much higher then 10-11KB/second without buffer
overruns.

You'll have to turn on the first option in the config while makeing a
menuconfig or xconfig. Then you'll have to go down the list that will
then be promted for, and select support for the intewrface chipset used
on *your* board, in addition to the 'use dma when available' options.
This may not be all thats required, and I'd certainly puruse the help
buttons while makeing the *config. ISTR I saw something there about
multiple interfaces or some such mentioned there.

Subject: Curse this iomega zoom card!
I'm having problems installing some Iomega hardware I was
given. I have a Zoom SCSI card, a Zip100 drive, and a Jaz2G.
This is all far too nice not to use, so I set it up under
Win98, no problems.
Re-compiled the kernel with scsi support (I asked for
support auto-loaded rather than as modules, but I don't
think this is the main problem). Added
append = "aha152x = 0x340,11,7,1"
in etc/lilo.conf (port and irq from Windows device manager)
and got "device not found" messages from Redhat 6.0. Back to
Windows. The zoom card is now at 0x140,11. Apparently the
PnP routines are shoving this card around to different
locations.
Can someone tell me either
1) (my favourite) the Zoom jumper settings to lock the card
in place.
or
2) how to force it to be recognized at a given location and
irq.
It's probably obvious that I don't have any docs for any of
this stuff, and the jumper settings aren't available at
www.iomega.com.
Please help me before I am forced to start spamming the
alt.binary.huge_breasts hierarchy with this question.
best wishes, mark s.

For parallel port version, use printtool and install
the Epson Uniprint "stc600p" driver. Then edit the
/var/spool/lpd/lp/postscript.cfg file. Find the
"RESOLUTION=NAxNA" and change the NAxNA to 720x720.
Works beautifully. Don't know how to setup the USB
port. Not sure if USB is even supported yet.

Sorry, HSP stands for "Host Signal Processing," which makes this a

I'm coming in here in the middle, but just wanted to make sure you
weren't compiling those modules into the kernel, but as modules.
I believe that its mentioned in the help available when making
menuconfig or xconfig, that these don't work when they are *in* the
kernel. I've pretty much followed their advice, and have had relatively
few problems in setting up my Epson Stylus Pro *once* I understood that
there wasn't an support for *my* printer in the rhsfilters.rpm, and
started using apsfilters instead, along with GS5.50 which has many more
new printers added to its repertory.

I once had occasion to look at a part of the xisp source code and it
uses both chat and pppd to make the connection and do PPP. Unless you
can find a way to get more messages from chat, and perhaps pppd too,
with the inputs that xisp allows then I'd say go back to chat and pppd.
(I've never used xisp despite needing to look at some of the code so I
can't say how to get more verbose messages with it.) A TA is made
to be used just like a modem and chat and pppd are all that you need.
You need more log detail than you posted to tell what's going on, unless
you get lucky and someone that had exactly the same problem replies.

Maybe the editor on that system was smart enough to run lilo after you

 From staff and wires reports.
DILI, East Timor (CNN) -- Pro-Indonesia militias held a bloody rein on Dili
Monday while some journalists, U.N. workers and residents fled East Timor's
lawless territorial capital.
Witnesses said that Indonesian troops -- who previously stood idle while the
militias ran a campaign of death and destruction through the city -- had
begun to take an active role in the rampage. Hundreds of residents are
reported to have been killed in the violence during the week since the East
Timorese voted for independence.
"There is very clear evidence of collusion among elements of the security
forces and the militias," said U.N. spokesman Nick Birnback, holed up in the
besieged U.N. compound. "A campaign of forced deportation seems to be taking
place, with the Indonesian army and militias loading people onto trucks and
sending them to West Timor."
Hundreds of people were seized during an attack on the residence of 1996
Nobel Peace Prize winner Bishop Carlos Belo, where they had sought refuge
when the militias resorted to violence as it became clear the East Timorese
voted overwhelmingly for independence.
Belo was home when the attack took place, but was uninjured. He was later
flown by police helicopter to the eastern town of Baucau while his house was
reportedly burning out of control.
Belo was "deeply hurt, especially psychologically," said Baucau Bishop
Basilio Nascimento. "He's in a state of shock. From the scarce words he
uttered, the attack was violent."
At least 39 people were reported killed in the attack, although the report
could not be verified. The pro-Indonesia forces moved next door to round up
refugees sheltering in the Red Cross headquarters after torching Belo's
home.

I use KPPP to start my connection, I try to start one, the modem start
working but the modem are not hable to get the dial tone and I know why.
It's because I have voice mail in my phone line and the signal is not
constant (it's like bip ---- bip, not bipppppppppppppp al normally). I
don't know if you understand what I am saying.
In windows I had this same problem but if you go to control panel -- modems

for dial tone before dialing, I have unchecked this box and now this works
good in windows, if I check the box it stops to work. Do you know what I am

Probably something that happened during installation. Easiest
way to fix is to re-install (make sure you don't say "yes"
to any RAID-related questions). Or you can look at your
shutdown scripts and comment out the offending lines.
