did you _install_ those services?
if yes, did you set up name resolving schemes?
/etc/hosts
/etc/resolv.conf
if yes, and you start those services, play with netstat and tcpdump to find out
whether
you actually get connections, or not.
(if tcpdump seems too obfuscated, try ethereal or tethereal)
