Hello my children,

After many a year of dreaming and talking about it, I have finally
decided to build a wearable.

My plans are starting to be made, lists, ideas... Would anyone else be
interested?
  Machine:
Plan A - PC/104+. Cons - small, most have very low equipment count.
Pros - low power consumption (some), low equipment count.
           Examples: http://www.lippert-at.com (Cool Runner II).

Plan B - something on the lines of EBX. Cons - fairly hight power
requirements, somewhat large. Pros - lots of I/O, needs few
           additional bits.
           Examples: http://www.lanner-usa.com (PCM-5822 or PCM-9370).

Plan C - cannibalize an old laptop. Cons - an old laptop to
cannibalize needed ;-), large, who knows what IO. Pros -
           probably very cheap.
Examples: My old Toshiba Portege 3020.

  Storage:
Plan A - Compact Flash (can ALSO come on PCMCIA), Disk-On-Chip or PCMCIA
ATA Flash. Cons - low capacity (up to 256MB). Pros - cheap, no
           moving parts.
Plan B - IBM Microdrive. Cons - moving parts, not cheap. Pros - medium
           capacity (up to 1GB), robust.
Plan C - a 2.5" Laptop drive. Cons - moving parts, medium robustness.
Pros - very high capacity (up to ~60GB).

  Input:
Plan A - Twiddler. Pros - small, has mouse. Cons - expensive (US$200),
           stiff learning curve.
           http://www.handikey.com

Plan B - Half-keyboard. Pros - small, somewhat not too expensive
($100). Cons - no mouse, needs learning.
           http://www.halfkeyboaard.com

Plan C - WristPC. Cons - not a real keyboard, very expensive (>$250),
no mouse. Pros - rugged, small, worn on forearm, keyboard.

  Display:
Oh my... well... errr... ummmm.... many options ranging from the very
expensive to the impossibly expensive. Basicly, something by Kopin.

  Power:
  Only now starting to check:
  Plan A - Battery Boss BB10-CFP + BP3200NH. Pros - unknown. Cons -
           unknown.

Many other details need to be worked out.
