I replied to similar remarks by Tzafrir Cohen a few minutes ago. I haven't had 
time yet to figure out how (if at all) you turn on KDE debugging. (Was at Moshe 
Bar's lecture on Friday [nice stuff], got home just before Shabbat.)

Re strace -  would you care to suggest which switches/options would be most useful?
