Since I haven't used OpenOffice, the question that stands foremost is: does OpenOffice include the Word DOC filters? The most useful part of StarOffice (I use 5.2) is its ability to read Word documents very easily. If there is ever going to be BiDi support in OpenOffice, that ability will become twice as important. Since Sun asserts that "some filters" are part of the proprietary additions to Open Office, this was the first question that occured to me: does this include the Word filter.
