Regarding Mandrake, has anybody managed to compile anything against the binary distribution of QT3? I installed both libqt3 and libqt3-devel, yet I can't compile anything against them. > A.i really liked KDE3 support 4 hebrew and the translations, only one > problem with that, i can read hebrew, but how do write in hebrew > chars? The easy way: go to the KDE control panel, and in the Peripherals->Keyboard branch, enable keyboard layouts, and choose "Israeli" in the list. Or you could just tweak your modmap files yourself. If you use TrueType hebrew fonts (No offense, but Elmar's are, well, unasthetic), you might like to recompile freetype2 with font-hinting: Mandrake's binaries are compiled with auto-hinting instead (For more on this, read http://www.freetype.org/patents.html) > B. where did the inetd.conf went? it aint at /etc/ inted was replaced with xinetd. Try /etc/xinetd.conf (Read man xinetd for the diffrences between inetd and xinetd). > C. i've installed alot of servers(PHP,apache,SQL) how do i turn them > off? Everything was default installed Either edit the files in /etc/sysconf/, or use drakconf (Mandrake Control Center) - it's under System->Services.
