writing to FAT

i need to know if there is a way to write to a fat exactly as does windows   i'm using Br-8 digital studio that uses zip disks for data   now, it uses fat16 for its format and ican back it up on windows no problem   i also can copy from the disk to the computer using linux, and use windows to write it back on the disk also no problem here   it only fails when i try to copy it back to disk using linux   Any Ideas ?   Eli
