What sense of not binary-compatible do you refer to?
Is it that the packaging format have been changed? Perhaps the binary 
of the program in question can not be run with older library? Or is the 
crucial statement here within the parenthesis (`at least: not tested as 
such')? In short, can you elaborate about the changes that were made?
