Outlook/exchange can provide all kinds of functionalities. Mail
Server/POP Server/Mail Client is one. You need NOT run Exchange for just
MTA/POP/IMAP.

Howver, Exchange/Outlook can also provide calendar sharing and the ilk.
Linux has not such function (yes, I know all you rabid bigots, there are
alternatives, but that was NOT the question - the alternatives will NOT
interoperate without LOOK).

This suggests the office does not use calendaring or am i reading too
