This is not the only commercial version, but other commercial versions (Volution, Openmail [now owned by Samsung, and renamed]) are not cheaper, either. This is part of the functionality. You would still need to serve the mail through imap/pop3 (which is not done by sendmail & co.). If you also insist: nntp service and LDAP service.
