I am trying this out right now, using a little program called dvgrab. I believe that stock RH kernels have all the modules needed. Problem: dvgrab complains that there is no /dev/raw1394 How do I get that beast in /dev? I forced the raw1394 module to load, but that is not enough. Any list members have a clue? > I have found that firewire has experimental support in 2.4.18 > so I guess it is ok but can I use it with a PCMCIA firewire card ? > Which one ? Where to buy ? Look up the ieee1394 project on sourceforge. There are two chipsets that are supported, and I am sure some actual models are listed in the hardware compatibility list. I am using a built in OHCI chipset (or so /sbin/lspci wants me to believe). Let me know about your progress. ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
