It seems that Sun will approve conributing the new bidi support in StarOffice
6.1 back to OpenOffice. This is not final but it looks possible. However, you
will probably have to provide your own TT fonts, unless you buy StarOffice, in
which case you will probably get OpenType fonts with StarOffice for Hebrew and
Arabic that support diacritics ("nikud" and "tashkeel"). You will be able to buy
the same font pack that StarOffice uses as a normal item of sale from some
vendors. A beta version of StarOffice will be available at the end of 2002. No
definite date yet. Readers of this list will be given special consideration in
the bidi beta program. That's about all we can say for now.
