Does any one know of a local supplier of SCSI accessories i.e.
* Cables
* Adapter cards (including dual segment)
* 50/68 pin converters (m/f, all combinations including with/without
top byte termination)
* Terminators (passive & active)
It would help if the said suppler had some technical background i.e.
knows a little more than how to operate his cash register.
There is a company in Natanya Industrial Zone (near the beer factory)
called Wietec Ltd. Tel: +972(9)885-9889, Fax: +972(9)885-9779
They have everything you asked for and more, but they are not cheap
(they sell mostly to companies).
They have very good technical staff (their main technician is an
old-timer who worked on all kinds of computers and is very good).
There is a Linux angle: My current setup for n ADR 50 and Yamaha CDRW
(both SCSI) sort of work under WIn, but the tape does *not* work
correctly under Linux. I'm almost certain that there is a termination
problem, or worse.
Wietec have a linux angel too, their sale (software) support man is
running linux server (Debian). His name is Dudi Goldenberg.
Ehud.
Thanks for that.
