It's installed on Mandrake too, and that was one of the first things I 
checked. But that's not what I meant. All it tells me is that my USB devices 
(including the printer) are properly identified:

[root@shlomo1 root]# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 04cc:1122 Philips Semiconductors Hub
Bus 001 Device 008: ID 04b8:0005 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus Printer
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 055f:0006 Mustek Systems Inc. ScanExpress 1200 UB

In fact, I prefer usbview which, aside from the GUI, also gives alot more 
information. But neither lsusb or usbview one can help me **sniff** around 
and see what's going wrong.
