Another change that has slipped my mind: There are now two additional
variants of the Israeli keyboard layout. Both of the add Nikud (and some
other chars) but in two different places:
The variant "lyx" adds nikud instead of capital English letters. Many
people think they are not required (I have disabled the caps lock on my
keyboard). This is a chance to make better use of the caps-space in
Hebrew.
Add to that good mapping, and you could easily type English (and even
caps) even when in the Hebrew layout.
The variant "si1452" implements the Israely standard SI1452 for the
placement of nikud and some other characters, mainly on the number keys.
You'll need to map a certain modifier to switch to the third shift level.
I'll try to give better docs (layout map, setxkb comand-line) in the
near future. (But I currently have no XFree 4.3)
