I know this is *not* what you asked, but I've been having several problems (that seems to come and go randomly) using OSS with i810. I then switched to alsa, and no more problems. I read several reports from others that had problems (all different then mine) that were all solved when switching to alsa. FWIW, I'm using Debian unstable as well. -- "It was only a one liner.
