No. I have it installed on another machine, where I add to because I
needed to support an external MIDI keyboard. Just don't think it's
really needed for a simple audio use.

Actually it is very easy to install if you have a stock kernel since the
modules are pre-packaged and just need to be installed. 

I did have some problems compiling it on a WOLK (patched) kernel which I
didn't get a chance to deal with yet but noticed couple of similar
complaints experienced by others, with the same error message.
