By the way, the "syster feature" of Caller ID is "MSN" (nothing to do with Microsoft's MSN), which is the number that was dialed (rather than the number of the line that called us).
Many of you may ask "why the hell do we need this number? Don't we know OUR number?!". The obvious answer is that sometimes the line has more than one number, and we want to distribute the input (e.g. faxes) to 8 different people / mailboxes / fax-boxes. The best example of a multi-number line in Israel is ISDN BRI (simple ISDN) which supports up to 8 numbers (PRI supports more, but is expensive and is used only by telecom, ISPs, and other relevant companies). Now comes the big question: Has any of you experienced this in Israel? What do I need? I was told that the only modem supporting MSN and faxes over ISDN for Linux is ZyXEL 2864I; Is it true? Is there any alternative? Is mgetty the best software for this specific purpose? Currently I'm using mgetty, but for a simple line.
