It now came to my attention that my original posting resulted in an outcome that I definitely never intended it to be. My message was indeed very passionate and it was sent at a moment of frustration on my side. The message was only intended to provoke a technical discussion on security measures rolled out currently at the WIS. With no slightest doubt, I did not intend or wished to hurt any of the WIS employees personally.
Remembering the long term, devoted services given by the WICC staff I do withdraw my criticism of them. I truly do regret sending that message.
Over the years I have had very good working relations with many of the WICC staff. When their help was needed, it was provided competently. Similarly, in cases when I was asked for an advice, I always tried my best to be of some help. It was never my intention to hurt them, but to try to continue our work. I definitely would like to meet with them and clarify my true intentions. If I can be of further help I'll be glad to.
During the years, I believe I also tried to help as much as I could the WIS employees and staff members at academic institutions in Israel in their computer problems. Also, there are Open Source projects I contributed to literally years of personal time. By a very modest estimate, dozens of thousands users (including, by the way, the Weizmann scientists) all over the world use them in their daily work. But recently, I faced the situation that a lot of the work I invested was going to be zeroed.
I truly feel sorry and I apologize sincerely if my frustration resulted in inappropriate words that caused offense. Again, it certainly wasn't my intention.
Therefore, I consider the issue closed and kindly ask everybody to refrain from further comments.
Evgeny
