I am not sure if Perl/Python/PHP/Tcl/Ruby and other programming languages
should be under the title 'linux' as they are platform independent
but in an earlier mail someone mentioned them.

So in case you do decide to include them then here are a few links
I'd mention:

http://www.perl.org.il/
The Israeli Perl Mongers
The group maintains it own mailing list, holds monthly technical
meetings to improve their programming skils and holds annual
conferences to provide a forum for the wider public to learn about
techniques in Perl.
(Please use the parying mantis image taken from the site if possible)

http://www.perl.org.il/YAPC/2003/
The first Perl conference in Israel

http://www.perl.org.il/YAPC/2004/
The second Perl conferenc in Israel

http://www.pti.co.il/
Perl Training Israel
The company provides consulting, development, support and training
of the Perl programming language.

thank you
