  Why a laptop then? Space considerations? Since your Cable Internet
socket is probably in a fixed place you are not looking for a laptop
because of its mobility, are you?
  Some time ago someone, perhaps Oded Arbel, wrote that in general
laptops have heating problems when left running for extended period of
time.
