Nokia 6310i (or 6210)

I find it much more convenient than anything that exists on desktop
(or laptop). I cannot count on a computer to be on or on myself being
in front of it when I need to look up a number or an address, or when
I need an alarm. When you bring up a contact dialing the number is a
one-click proposition. Works while I am driving as well.

YMMV. E.g. I have never felt a need to sync with a PC. If you do feel
such a need, note that, unfortunately, Nokia PC Suite does not exist
for Linux, and I don't know how good gnokii is. I just back up the
data once in a while.
