A more realistic example: if I am BMW and my iDrive system in the 700 series runs on Windows and keeps crashing then I have to factor the cost of crashes (in fixes, recalls, returns, lost customers, lost reputation, etc) when I consider switching to linux (while assuming that Linux-based iDrive won't crash all that much, of course). [This is partly tongue-in cheek, but it *is* a real-world example, AFAIK: CA people delivered this as a "scoop" at last year's "Go Linux"]. > I don't think Izik Cohen has suddenly become an FOSS fanatic. Most of the reports I've seen make an unattributed (editorial?) statement that our Treasury is after Thai-style discounts on MSOffice more than after FLOSS or open standards. Can anyone in the know confirm or deny this? -- Oleg Goldshmidt | [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
