As we're an NPO (Ha'makor) we don't pay any taxes, and thus don't need tax

You are wrong about that one, as far as I can tell. NPO means that you are not doing things
for profit yourself, but you live in an economy where other bodies DO exist for making
profit. Therefore you have to show tha tax man that your NPO isn't used to evade taxes.
(see Barak's and other politician's "Amutot", there they were trying to cover for other law
breakings, but the point is that an NPO can't do whatever it pleases).
And you have to do it in a way that whenever the tax man knocks on your door
and asks for "the books" you can show him something acceptable by the rules.
Besides - you CAN do tax-related stuff (pay salaries, pay VAT, write out receipts), and
these ARE taxable either by you or the other party of the transaction, therefore you have
to keep books of your doings.

But why do I have to tell you all this? Have you asked Hamakor's lawyer for a definite
answer?
