Hi all,

I am working with debian unstable, and when I boot the system, I will
sometimes get a very long wait on 'Staring MTA:'.
I am working with exim4.
The only thing I want to configure exim4 to do is to send mail using an
external smtp server. I receive mail from an external pop server, and that
works fine.
Please tell me how to do this, and also how to stop the very very long pause
(about 2 - 3 minutes) on Starting MTA.
..
Truth is that I think I have already done this, and I used the mail sent by
smarthost with no local mail. I also set the parameter for machine handling
outgoing mail to the smtp server that I want, and mail does get sent, so
perhaps that was correct.
But I still can't figure out the real long pause when starting the mta.
..
I also have my hostname, and localhost in my /etc/hosts file as 127.0.0.1.?

Thank you so much,
