"The wedding ceremony" and contract is not really a substitute of polling the list and deciding whether to start the whole thing. Don't forget that you are trying to marry Linkedin on one hand, and about a hundred list subscribers, not including the future ones, on the other. Somebody (Lior?) are representing the group and decides alone who goes to the list's Linkedin community and who's not. How is that connected to free subscription to the Linux-IL? > the actions mentioned below mean we have to make linux il's web site > pretend to endorse some service, and we then need to spam people? > can you describe what are the _mandatory_ actions from the list you > > posted? according to their web site, these are all mandatory. lets see: > > here it is... > > http://download.linkedin.com/corporate/product/groups/group_services_agre > >ement.pdf > > > > The only thing I see as an issue is the next clause... > > > > REQUIRED LAUNCH AND MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES > > > > This section describes the activities we expect your group to perform > > in exchange for the free service offered. Well if we post the invitation to the list, it will almost inevitably reach us all. Well, I think I can handle seeing the same email appear on the list three times without bursting a blood vessel, even within 60 days. > > > * Display (i) the LinkedIn logo, (ii) a short description about > > Your Group Service Launch and (iii) information about how to join Your > > Group Service on Your Group's website from the date of the release of > > Your Group Service to You by LinkedIn and until at least 6 months from > > that date, if You have a website. > > this is a "semi-permanent link-exchange" scheme... So there must be a section with information on how to join our Linkedin Community... right? Isn't that one of the things we are starting that discussion for? > > * Display the LinkedIn Logo on Your Site in the "Events" or > > "Partners" or similar section of Your Site, including brief text > > description and link, for the duration of this agreement, if there is > > such a website in existence. > > even worst - it must be on the home page, since we have an 'events' box on > the home page? and we have no 'partners' nor similar section. So we shall make a "Partners" one, just for LinkedIn for now. "You" is the legal representative of Linux-IL, the group administrator that is authorised to enter the agreement with LinkedIn on behalf of all Linux-IL members. Hmmm indeed. That's why we really should poll the list before actually attempting to do whatever we consider A Right Thing(tm). -- Sincerely Yours, Vasiliev Michael (not wearing the moderator hat) NP: XMMS is not loaded. ================================================================= To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word "unsubscribe" in the message body, e.g., run the command echo unsubscribe | mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
