At this stage I write and we discuss it, but to use a program in which he is not able to modify the text to a better formulation would be both rude and counter- productive. ..Thanks for trying to help with word, Oleg. I did try the advanced buttons without success. Maxim's suggestion on using html for the draft seems interesting. It's a long time I am looking for a good pretext to learn writing HTML (without that, I lack the motivation to persevere). OO: I do not use word processors very much. I stayed away from it and tried abiword instead, because it seemed a big heavy beast. Maybe it is not so. At any rate abiword is even less to my taste than ms word. The main point of my letter was about the desireability possibility to combine the unix ways with WYSIWYG ways. From Oleg's answer I understand that it is far from trivial. As long as I do not contribute with code, I better stay quiet in my corner and thank for what is so generously given to me !
I am just reading Kopka & Daly's Guide to Latex and tend to agree to both of you that this is by far the best tool for the job. But no chance to use it in the present constellation.
