Hi all,

Timidity++-2.13.2 was running nicely on my Gentoo machine but for some unknown reason, I have decided to upgrade it to timidity++-2.13.2-r2 (probably I hoped I could get better performance on my old laptop)
and guess what? it stopped working.

Looking at the error messages I see:

command# timidity -iA
current/timidity.cfg: No such file or directory
timidity: Can't read any configuration file.
Please check /usr/share/timidity/timidity.cfg

So I looked into the file (/usr/share/timidity/timidity.cfg which links to /etc/timidity.cfg) and disabled the line:

source current/timidity.cfg

Now when I tried to play a midi file:

command# timidity aurore.mid
Requested buffer size 32768, fragment size 8192
ALSA pcm 'default' set buffer size 32768, period size 8192 bytes
Playing aurore.mid
MIDI file: aurore.mid
Format: 1 Tracks: 2 Divisions: 120
Track name: Grand Piano (should have been a guitar. How do you fix that? - my remark) No instrument mapped to tone bank 0, program 4 - this instrument will not be heard
No pre-resampling cache hit
Terminated sig=0x02

I compared the config file with the one from the backup. the same.

I rolled back to 2.13.2. the same.

I ran out of options.
