Shalom Matan,

I'd like to thank you for the efforts to bring Hebrew to the 770. Up until
recently I though I am the only soul in Israel carrying a 770 around... ;-)

I am quite a newbie to all of this, so most of what you say sound gibberish
to me :-)

All I found was the Hebrew Locale package in the Maemo Garage. I've
installed it, but can't figure out what changed, if anything changed at
all...

I'd be very grateful for some kind of a detailed HOWTO for enabling / using
Hebrew on the 770. Some step-by-step instructions I can follow.

All I need is to see Hebrew for Web sites. I tried minimo with YNet and all
I got was a bunch of squares (encoding set to UTF-8).

Did you install hebrew fonts? copy from windows arial.ttf, times.ttf, courier.ttf, tahoma.ttf (or maybe culmus fonts, I did not try that) to /home/user/.fonts

Let me know how can I help - you do the coding and I'll phrase the HOWTO
perhaps?

That's reasonable. Once you get ynet to work, I'll try to instruct you in getting privoxy to work for non-utf8 sites.
