Hi,
Those of you who are paying attention will remember that I moved here from
Australia 4 months ago. Again, thanks to those who have answered questions
for me in that time (don't worry, there will be more).
I've finally decided that it's time to configure NTP. but I'm having
trouble finding servers that are nearby to use. I looked at ntp.org at
their server pool project, but the segment for Israel
(http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/il) currently lists 0 servers.
I've done a bit of DNS work and found the following which may or may not
yield actual working servers:
* ntp.netvision.net.il (2 addresses)
* ntp.012.net.il
* time.inter.net.il
* time.bezeqint.net
Anyone know if any of these are working public servers? Anyone with
suggestions of other servers to use?
I tried looking at some of the other pool.ntp.org servers. MOst of the
Asian ones were in the east, and for me at least, tracing to them often
goes via the US. europe is better, but most traffic seems to go via the UK
which again is a bit far. I downloaded a Ubuntu image from Cyprus the
other week and that machine was only 7 hops away, but alas there don't seem
to be any NTP pool servers there either.
I've also consulted the time server lists at ntp.org but found nothing of
any particular help.
Part of me is tempted to just try these servers I've found here, but I
figured it was prudent to ask here first. I also plan on adding myself to
the pool as soon as I can get accurate time from somewhere.
Any comments are welcome.
