Hmm.. what I feel is u dont really need the source code of any ftp client,
rather u can achieve with perl . write a perl program to connect your ftp
port on the host and issue the commands you need to send/get ur files ..
and ur Date::Manip module gives you an excellent time management of your
program or instead u can put in cron job ..
(Similar things can be done in C also)

hmm .. seems you are a hungry programmer . nice to see you around .. ;) .
you can download the code of any ftp client to see how the commands are
implemented there .. I mean u can download from redhat site or so many
mirror sites are there !!! grab the source of ftp-x.x-x.src.rpm from
there! and play with it!
