Some one had created a user called operator. and I wanted to get rid of
it..
So I used linuxconf.
unfortunately they had set the users home directory to be /root
Linuxconf  removed the /root directory.
linuxconf does give you an option to archive the home directory ,
unfortunately it doesn't say what that home directory is :(. perhaps if
it had then I wouldn't be picking up the pieces
