Try what you please, this or Xtheatre.. upto you. But I have a
workaround of my own.
Actually our monitors and Xservers support a large number of display
modes.. many of them much below the resolution of 640x480. To watch VCDs
full screen, I set my modes to a really low value... 320x400 or so..
when it barely fits.
Fire up xf86config and write your XF86Config using that. It should work
properly.
Be careful to choose all the feasible modes for your chosen colourdepth
and then cycle through those. Your window will fill the screen.
