Hi Shankar,
I have had a bad experience with SiS 6215 card. I have a LAN of 18 PII 350
MHz machines and 17 with 6215 cards. In RH 6.1 I tried the solution given by
PCQuest but failed miserably to run X. However, in RH 6.0 I am running the
LAN beautifully with X in 32 bit colors and 800X600 resolution. The trick is
to configure the X withXF86Config and give any SiS related name there. then
open the file XF86Config in /etc/X11/ directory. go to the subsection of
"Display" "Configured by XConfigurator" and unremark the line for VRAM and
add a line "ChipSet "SiS86C205"" without the outside quotes. and start
ur X with startx command. In RH 6.0 it is guaranteed to work. But not in
6.1.
