I agree with you. I checked it some time back. And default installation
for every file is safe enough. In fact at home machine I am the only user
and I have root access. But working on other machine without root access,
sometimes is pain. You can not turn on and off inet services and do
experiments.(Unless you compramise security of the system).
Moral : Defaults are sufficient..
