Do not give up yet. Try XF86Config

There is a basis for comparison, I guess, and that is that XF86Setup
looks good. Believe me, when I came from Xconfigurator to XF86Setup, it
was like COOL MAN, where have I wasted my life before??

Then I came to my senses. XF86Setup [till 3.3.6] did not really allow us
to optimally configure our setup. [Especially for choosing a monitor
etc]. The option 'High Frequency SVGA' was not the best setting for my
Samsung 55e. For that you have to run xvidtune and one dear fellow on
the list already swars by his monitor being blown up due to using that..
I must admit that xvidtune is slightly cryptic for me, if your goal is
to get the best performance out of your monitor. There are better and
much simpler ways..

Like xf86setup.

There even I am surprised. Rajesh Fowkar, say something? This guy got a
SiS AGP card running without having to bash his head at the nearest
wall!!
