Hello Everybody,
I have two IDE hard disks and a IDE cdrom. I have
installed WinNT on the first disk and Redhat Linux 6.1
on the second hard disk. Under Linux i am not able to
use the cdrom. Whenever i try to mount it, i get the
message: KERNEL DOES NOT RECOGNIZE /dev/cdrom AS A
BLOCK DEVICE (maybe insmod driver?).
ls -l /dev/cdrom gives
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Mar 22 22:14 /dev/cdrom ->hdc
ls -l /dev/hdc gives
brw------- 1 root disk 3 Mar 22 , 0 May 6 1998 hdc
The CDROM drive is a standard ACER drive which is
autodetected under Windows.
Please help
