I agree with you Khader. APMD does not need to be running for auto power off. No it 
doesn't report any problem! The system smoothly switches to run level 0, the screen 
goes blank as it should and reboots. What I wonder that exactly the same system was 
performing OK with Redhat 6.0 (pcq). I am also able to auto power off from Windows. As 
I told earlier, now also, I am able to auto power off, but only sometimes. Is there 
any parameter in the kernel to take care the auto-power-off capability? Do I need to 
re-compile the kernel?

BTW, Khader, I have enjoyed your Answering Machine-HOWTO. Is there any X-interface to 
this VM-stuff? Where? Presently, I have built a Tcl-TK interface to it on my own. If 
somebody needs, I shall be happy to provide it.
