Dear Linux users, I use RH6.1 with Ensonique Audio PCI. dmesg indicates ESS1371: dma timeout?? in somany places. sndconfig with manual configuration option also does not get recognised. The sound card is automatically detected and installed and wav files are working properly. command : $cat /dev/sndstat indicates no such device. kmid does not function indicating unable to open device/sequencer. I have done /dev/MAKEDEV also. Does not help. Kindly help. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- LIH is all for free speech.
