I am not able to set up X properly. I have RHL 6.1. My card is SiS 6215.
I ran Xconfigurator and selected Unlisted Card from the list. Then, I
selected a VGA16 server, the Monitor, and it tested the configuration and
everything was fine. And I started Gnome and the resolution I get is (I
think) 640 X 480 (I don't know how to check this). If a program window is
big in size it goes out of the screen. Also the colour quality is not
good. I know that my Monitor supports 800 X 600, 24-bit true colour. I
have 2 MB video RAM and I tried various methods described in PC Quest
Magazine but it doesn't work. In fact, after I tried the method, X did not
work at all. Also, netscape has problems running. It gives an error -
'Netscape cannot run in Pseudocolor 4x' or something like that and that
pictures will be displayed in monochrome (Actually, it doesn't even display
in Monochrome). Is there some easy way to get X running properly. And
also, what files to backup, so that is some method fails I can at least get
this working. Please help me. Also, program execution in X is very slow.
