If you can lay your hand on the March and Feb 2000 issues of PC Quest in
Print then you can find two articles in it "Running X on your display card"
and "X Window with SiS Cards" respectively.
You can also find them on their web page at www.pcquest.com on their home
page simply click on the link Linux and you will be there.
