I suggest you try the liquid used for cleaning contact lenses "Renu" or
"Bausch&Laumb". You also get protease disinfectant tablets for the contact
lenses which you dissolve in water and dip the contact lenses in the
solution. these tablets dissolve all sorts of grease and protein deposits on
the contact lenses, make a solution of about ten tablets in enough water to
dip your CD. I have never used these to clean a cd but it should work.

I always use "pure" alcohol and it does not damage a cd, Just be sure
there's nothing written on the CD with something like marker pen. Try
smirnoff vodka, buy a small miniature bottle, should put you back about 35
bucks. If you want stronger stuff, buy any sealed bottle of a Homoeopathic
medicine, make sure it is made in germany, thats a stiff 91% alcohol and as
pure as you can get; buy any medicine in 30 potency that should be the
cheapest, the alcohol will still be as strong.

Though, go for the contact lens cleaner and tablets. and as Rohit said, What
fell on the CD ?

hth, regards,

sharukh
