Hi Anil,

If you're planning to use lilo (which is much better and
flexible than putting entry for linux in the Win_NT bootloader menu) just
remember to have:

1. more than one primary partition on your hard disk
2. first primary partition should start at cylinder 1
3. Another primary partition should be below 1024 cylinder limit
4. WIN_NT should be on the first primary partition
5. linux /boot should be on the other primary partition (this is below
1024 cylinders and has lilo on it and is the only active (bootable)
   partition)
6. MBR should have DOS

obviously the command to mount ntfs is
mount -t ntfs /dev/your_partition /your_mountpoint

You need to have ntfs support in the kernel for this.
(last time I checked, ntfs could not be used as a module and had to be
compiled in the kernel. RedHat kernel comes with ntfs support. Also I
could read and write to NTFS partition but could not delete anything)

best wishes,
Indraneel

LIH is all for free speech. But it was created for a purpose - to help
people discuss issues about installing and running Linux. If your
messages are counterproductive to this purpose, your privileges to
submit messages can and will be revoked.
