Sounds like you are using YaST2 for installation. Y2 had some
problems like reporting disk space in 6.3. You should use good old
YaST to carry out the setup. Just see that the correct image is
loaded, and the installation works just fine

No...SuSE has no problems here, if RHL can do it, so can SuSE

Maybe the easiest way for u is to fire up rawrite and create a
bootdisk with the text install boot image, and then boot from fdd

If u are comfortable with the druid partitioning tool, do so by all
means, it does not matter who partitions it, the disk should be
partitioned for Linux and the install will be smooth.
Bottomline, stick to YaST.
