If you have installed KDE, use kppp. The modem is the port to which your modem
is connected. /dev/ttyS?, where ? = 0 for com1 and ? = 1 for com2. Use a script
for connecting to VSNL

For Gnome, use the redhat dialer, the file to edit is wvdial.conf .

I have a pretty similar config, so its hardly outdated (unless you choose to
follow the marketing principle: It is outdated the moment you buy it.)
