Hi,
Use fetchmail. Run fetchmailconf in X. the button menu will help
you to configure a working .fetchmailrc . You can then type fetchmail from
a terminal after connecting to the internet to download your mails to your
inbox (which you can see using pine or mutt)
fetchmailconf even has help boxes and a man page (which you will probably
not need)
Best wishes,
Indraneel
