Hi Anil,

On my machine too there are 2 resolv files in /etc/ppp.
One is /etc/resolv.conf and the other is /etc/resolv.prev.

Out of this two /etc/ppp/resolv.prev is my original file with DNS server settings and
the other is /etc/ppp/resolv.conf which is created once I am connected to the net and
it contains the DNS server settings of Mumbai server. Why this happens I don't know.
SuSE in its IP-UP script
copies this newly created /etc/ppp/resolv.conf to /etc/resolv.conf once I am connected
to Net resulting in changed /etc/resolv.conf.

Due to the above problem I have renamed /etc/ppp/ip-up to /etc/ppp/ip-up.SuSE and
/etc/ppp/ip-down to /etc/ppp/ip-down.SuSE and created my own ip-up and ip-down scripts
to make the wwwoffle online. Now /etc/resolv.conf does not get replaced. But still
those 2 files are present in /etc/ppp.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Rajesh

In SuSE in my case what was happening was that
