~Please~ - if you see - most of the questions which are asked by people
who supply any kind of detailed info (about their sound cards, say)are
answered.
The questions which get ~anybody's~ goat here are those which go something
like "Hi, my ymf 724 is not working on linux" :)

Linux is for people who want good performance - _without_ being spoonfed
every second, like with Windows. It is for experimentation rather than
spoonfeeding.

I've never compiled a kernel in my life :) I just hit upgrade when the
next version of redhat is released.
