Hi list
some times back we sent a mail to you asking for using pop3 with pine. as was
suggested, we started using fetchmail and now are able to get mails in the
inbox.
though still to read fetchmail-FAQ. but now the problem is sending mails from
the linux box . this box is a dual boot win95+linux. suppose i want to use my
email as on my smtp server like: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ; do i have to create
a user rajeevj on my linux box specifically , or is there any way of telling
my smtp server that this mail is coming from [EMAIL PROTECTED] (
something like a profile in communicator!)
right now if i try to send mails the reply to address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] ,
bcuz i have put mahindrabt.com in domain name and of course i can't receive
the replies to those mails. one more thing, is it necessary to run sendmail /
MTA on my box ? pine or some other mail-user-interface should be able to
connect to my smtp server. so this is the problem in essence : sending mails
with a valid reply-to address from my dual -boot linux box using my smtp
server. some people said here what the hell do u want it for , use
communicator , but what the heck , we want to use pine , don't know why , we
are like this only :o)
