Hi Yep,
Sure it is possible AFAIK. But question is WHY???
Configuring one sound card on any m/c (irrespective of OS
or any other factors) is in itself a big pain in the butt,
and U want to be courageous enuf to try out two??? If it is
just for the academic exercise of having all that confusing
music playing on the m/c, every card (well almost) has a
separate "line" for "line in", audio, CD and MIDI. So any of
these can be combined to get the mixed output on the PC
speakers. So it is possible to say play a MIDI file AND an
audio device AND a line device AND a CD device simultaneously.
If U want to simultaneously play two devices of the same
kind, U have to have 2 cards. Please note that audio here
encompassess all forms (ie) wav, mp3, ra etc as all these
are only different forms of compressing the raw audio data.
HTH ... Narain.

Hi everyone,
Is it possible to have two simulataneous sound outputs from one computer in
Linux? Like if I put two sound cards in one computer could I have two
different MP3 players or any software for that matter playing two different
songs at the same time?
Any URL's, suggestions etc. welcome.
